New LA courses address all applicable California state standards and are focused on academic rigor, relevance for students, and working on respect and relationships through study and group work. Every course taught at New LA has rigorous standards. Each course attempts to connect to the lives of our students, making the material relevant. Projects and social justice themes where appropriate help reinforce student and teacher relationships and the mutual respect necessary to succeed in teamwork and in life.
