Admission to New Los Angeles Charter School (New LA) is open to any resident of the state of California. New LA does not charge students tuition and does not discriminate against any student on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender or disability. Applying is simple – all you have to do is fill out a simple one page application form.
Applicants must be entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in September 2010.
Applications for admissions are only available at Enrollment Information Meetings.

February-March, 2010 – Enrollment Information Meetings

Friday, March 26, 2010 – Application Deadline
Applications must be hand-delivered or postmarked no later than March 26, 2010 in order to be included in the lottery. Late applications are put at the end of the wait list.
Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 4:30 pm – Admission Lottery
If the number of students applying for admission exceeds openings available, enrollment will be determined by a public random drawing. All students who have applied by the deadline will be included in the lottery. The lottery is open to the public, and will take place at 5100 Wilshire Blvd., LA, CA 90036. Enrollment preference will be extended to siblings of enrolled New LA students, children of board members, founders, teachers, and staff.
Friday, April 9, 2010 – Admissions Letters Mailed
Admission letters mailed to families selected in the lottery. Wait list letters will also be distributed at this time.
Monday, May 3, 2010 – Enrollment Deadline
If the enrollment forms are not returned by May 3, 2010, admission for that student is forfeited and an admission notice is mailed to the next student on the waiting list. Attendance at an enrollment orientation at a later date required.
May-September 2010 – Students Admitted from the Wait List
Students on the wait list are notified by mail and phone if a space becomes available.
